ByMabaleng was born from a passion for beauty, innovation, and self-care.
My name is Mabaleng Kgaphola, and the journey behind this brand began while I was completing my Master’s degree in Information Systems in Japan. During my time there, I became fascinated by the beauty culture of Japanese and Korean women — particularly their dedication to skincare, consistency, and maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin through intentional daily routines.
What started as curiosity soon became research. I began exploring skincare practices, beauty technology, ingredients, and the connection between self-care and confidence across different cultures.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the world experienced lockdown restrictions that changed everyday life. Something as simple as going for a facial or professional skincare treatment suddenly became difficult and inaccessible. This inspired me to think about how people could still maintain effective skincare routines from the comfort of their homes.
As a result of this research and inspiration, I developed my first product: an eco-friendly silicone exfoliating brush designed for convenient home use. The goal was to create a simple but effective beauty tool that supported healthy skincare routines while also being reusable and environmentally conscious.
Over time, that vision evolved into ByMabaleng — a growing beauty and skincare brand inspired by Korean and Japanese beauty philosophies, innovation, and intentional self-care.
Today, ByMabaleng offers a carefully curated range of skincare and beauty products selected with quality, hydration, glow, and skin health in mind. The brand is built around the belief that skincare is not only about appearance, but also about confidence, routine, wellness, and how we care for ourselves in our everyday lives.
